The Toyota Highlander Is a Strong, Capable SUV

The Toyota Highlander three-row SUV might be ideal for a lot of our customers in Pittsburgh, PA. Not only is it capable, but it’s also spacious, modern, and well-equipped with high-tech systems.

At Jim Shorkey Toyota, we actually have two types of Toyota Highlanders. One uses a standard powertrain, while the other runs on a hybrid system. The standard system consists of a 2.4-liter, turbocharged engine and an eight-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission. This engine can make 265 horsepower and over 300 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid system uses a 2.5-liter engine and electric motors. It can generate 175 pound-feet of torque and 186 horsepower.

With any new Toyota Highlander, you’ll have the option of getting all-wheel drive. Plus, the SUV can come with an advanced suspension. Drive Mode Select is included with these Toyotas. With this program, you can choose from Sport, Eco, and Normal modes. Other options include Snow, Mud & Sand, and Rock & Dirt modes.
